Let me introduce myself

My name is Ilissa Ducoat. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I graduated with my M.A. in Individual Counseling from Montclair State University in 2003. Since then, I dabbled in the field of mental health as a case manager, partial hospitalization counselor, and a crisis worker until starting in the private practice setting in 2013. During that time, I have been serving the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community as well as hearing folks. I started my own practice, Life After Loss Counseling, in April of 2019 in Quakertown, PA.

I provide services in English and American Sign Language. I request we do a Zoom chat prior to meeting to ensure clear communication, and if there is a need, interpreters are available upon request.

I offer trauma-informed care and have specialized training in Grief and Loss, which encompasses loss not only through death, but divorce, miscarriage/stillbirth, infertility, chronic illness, addiction, intangible losses, and life transition. I normalize the experience of grief and offer a safe space to process through a client’s unique grief experience. I am also trained as a counselor through Gift of Life. I am also a Fellow in Thanatology through the Association for Death Education and Counseling - ADEC.

I recognize not every counselor fits with every client, and I am 100% in support of a “test drive” to ensure each party feels like entering treatment together would be a good fit.
